Privacy notice

Short version: the checker runs in your browser and this site never receives your prescription. There are no accounts, no cookies of our own, and no analytics on the checker.

Your prescription values

The prescription values you enter are processed entirely within your browser to compare them against manufacturers' published lens ranges. They are not sent to our servers, stored, or shared with any third party, and we do not run analytics on the values themselves. Because we never receive them, we do not hold any personal or health data about you from using the checker. If you enable "remember on this device", the values are stored only in your browser and can be cleared at any time.

If you use an AI assistant to run the check, your assistant's provider may retain what you type. This site never receives it.

In technical terms: the page downloads a dataset of manufacturers' published ranges and compares your numbers against it in JavaScript. There is no form submission, no request that carries a value, and no analytics or session-recording script on the checker. The checker page is served with a Content Security Policy that only allows connections back to this site, so no third-party script can send a value elsewhere. A prescription value is never placed in a link or a URL; the only parameters our links carry are a model id and a country code.

"Remember on this device"

This toggle is off by default. If you switch it on, the values you entered are stored in your browser's local storage on this device only, so the form is pre-filled next time. Nothing is sent to us. Press "Clear" or switch the toggle off to delete them; clearing your browser's site data also removes them.

What we do collect

• Server logs. The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes standard request logs (IP address, user agent, page requested, time) to serve and protect the site. Cloudflare acts as our processor. We do not combine these logs with anything you type. Retention follows Cloudflare's standard settings.
• Email. If you email a correction or a question, we keep the email for as long as needed to act on it.
• Nothing else. No accounts, no newsletters, no tracking pixels. If we add advertising or analytics later, this page will change first and a consent banner with an equally easy "reject all" will appear before any personalised advertising runs.

Affiliate links

Retailer links marked "Ad" go through an affiliate network, which may set its own cookie on the retailer's site to attribute a purchase. That happens on the retailer's or network's domain under their privacy policies, not on this site, and it does not involve any value you entered here. See the affiliate disclosure.

Your rights

Because we never receive your prescription, we hold no personal or health data about you from using the checker. For anything we do hold (an email you sent us), you can ask what we hold, ask us to correct or delete it, or complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
