iO: for captions, notes and prompts

iO uses a green text display and a phone connection. It has microphones but no camera or speakers. Consider it for short, glanceable information; confirm your phone’s app support and your required language first. It does not replace a computer screen. RayNeo announcement.

Prescription optics are integrated during manufacture. Order prescription lenses at purchase; they cannot be added later. RayNeo’s UK ordering guide says a changed prescription requires a new pair. Prescription ordering guidance.

GT versus GT Max: size, weight and optical fit

Both are external displays that need a source for video and power. GT is the lighter, less expensive choice, with a 46° field of view and fixed 64 mm optical IPD. GT Max increases the view to 59° and offers S, M and L optical sizes, while weighing 78 g instead of 68 g. More screen area is not automatically a better fit. The stated size bands do not establish safe outer fitting limits. RayNeo series comparison.

Allow for the whole connection: compatible USB-C video can connect directly; HDMI or Lightning needs extra equipment. Dolby Vision requires Pocket TV Pro and compatible content. A glasses-only price does not include that setup. Connection instructions.

What to check before ordering

The UK iO listing accepts orders, but Polar Night shipping starts gradually from 22 September. Check the chosen variant and prescription lead time with the RayNeo UK store.

TechRadar’s IFA hands-on by Hamish Hector describes improved GT Max sound and fewer distracting reflections. These are early hands-on impressions.

iO’s numerical limits remain unverified. Unknown prism or progressive support prompts confirmation. A published range does not establish comfort, frame fit or successful lens manufacture.

This tool checks whether your prescription falls inside the range each manufacturer publishes. It is not optical advice and does not replace a dispensing optician. UK law requires that spectacles for anyone under 16, or anyone registered sight impaired or severely sight impaired, are dispensed by or under the supervision of a registered practitioner, and that prescriptions are less than two years old.
