Which smart glasses work with astigmatism?
Astigmatism is the CYL line on your prescription card. Whether a pair of smart glasses can correct it comes down to two published facts: whether the maker states a cylinder limit at all, and whether it adds the cylinder to the sphere before testing its limit.
Short answer. Of the 14 models tracked here, 5 publish a cylinder cap outright — the highest is Rokid Glasses (display) at up to 6.00. 5 add the cylinder to the sphere and test the total power, so a strong cylinder can put you outside the range even when your sphere is comfortably inside it. 8 publish no cylinder figure at all. Check your own numbers — the comparison runs in your browser and nothing you type is sent anywhere.

Why a cylinder can fail a range your sphere passes
Meta, Snap and some lens partners publish a total power limit: the sphere and the cylinder are added together in minus-cylinder form, and the sum is tested against the limit. A card reading -3.50 / -1.00 is therefore treated as -4.50, which is outside a -4.00 limit even though -3.50 on its own is inside it.
Even Realities, Viture, Halliday, Rokid, Solos and RayNeo publish sphere and cylinder limits separately, so the two are tested independently. The two systems are never compared across, and the checker applies whichever rule the maker itself publishes for the route you would actually buy through.
What a built-in dial can and cannot do
Some models correct vision with a dial built into the frame rather than a lens made to your prescription. A dial changes sphere only: it cannot correct astigmatism at any strength. Where a model offers both a dial and a prescription insert, only the insert route can carry a cylinder.
Plus-cylinder cards
UK prescriptions are usually written in minus-cylinder form, but some are written in plus-cylinder. If yours is, you do not need to convert it yourself: the checker transposes it (sphere plus cylinder, cylinder sign flipped, axis rotated 90°) and shows you the converted line so you can confirm it matches your card.
Per-model detail, every published route and its source link are on each model page. Related: which models take varifocal lenses and how strong a prescription each one takes.
This tool checks whether your prescription falls inside the range each manufacturer publishes. It is not optical advice and does not replace a dispensing optician. UK law requires that spectacles for anyone under 16, or anyone registered sight impaired or severely sight impaired, are dispensed by or under the supervision of a registered practitioner, and that prescriptions are less than two years old.
