Which smart glasses take varifocal lenses?

Varifocals may require an optician appointment

The ordering channel matters. For example, Even’s G2 prescription FAQ states that online orders are single vision, while progressive and UltraFit lenses are available through optician partners (source checked 7 October 2026). Confirm measurements, appointments, price and timing with your chosen provider. The country column on each model page records which markets a route is published for. Our fitting guide explains what to arrange before ordering.

Reading addition (ADD)

The ADD figure on your card is the extra plus power for reading, and it sits on top of your distance prescription. 0 of the 41 models have a route with both ADD bounds recorded; where nothing is published, the checker reports the limit as unknown rather than assuming your ADD fits.

If varifocals are not offered

Ask the supplier which single-vision prescriptions it accepts for the exact model and intended use. A single-vision listing does not automatically include reading-only lenses. An optician can assess your everyday reading needs alongside the display’s viewing requirements.

Questions to ask before ordering display varifocals

• Can you supply progressives for this exact display model and frame in my country?
• Who checks the full prescription, ADD, PD and fitting heights, and is an appointment required?
• How will you check the display view and the glasses’ fit together?
• What is the complete frame-and-lens price, lead time and process for fitting problems or remakes?

This tool compares your prescription with published manufacturer or lens-provider ranges. It is not optical advice and does not replace a dispensing optician. Use a current prescription and ask your dispensing practitioner to confirm the applicable prescription-age and supervision requirements. In the UK, prescription spectacles for anyone under 16, or registered sight impaired or severely sight impaired, must be supplied by or under the supervision of a registered practitioner.
